Biography

Jim Omondi Ouko is a seasoned Research, Learning, and Monitoring Advisor with over 15 years of experience driving youth and women's economic empowerment within agricultural value chains. He has extensive expertise in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks that generate actionable evidence to strengthen youth-focused agricultural interventions.

Jim is highly skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with a strong focus on analysing barriers and opportunities for youth participation across entire value chains from production to processing and market access. His career spans multiple sectors, including livelihoods, gender, and economic empowerment, where he has supported strategies that enhance youth skills, entrepreneurship, and employment while promoting innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability.

He has collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders, including USAID agencies, NGOs, financial institutions, civil society organizations, faith-based groups, local governments, and private sector partners to design and implement evidence-based programs that create jobs, expand markets, and build resilience for youth and women. Jim is particularly passionate about participatory approaches that amplify youth voices and ensure research findings translate into actionable strategies for empowerment.
