Biography

Eric Oyare is a seasoned expert in environmental economics, program development, and fundraising with over 20 years of experience in sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and inclusive development across Africa. Currently leading the WWF Blue Heart of Africa Initiative, Eric supports freshwater and trans-boundary ecosystem programs in 10 countries and 7 landscapes.

His work advances climate adaptation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable development, including water resource management, gender mainstreaming, and nature-based solutions. Eric brings proven leadership from past roles at WWF Kenya, Plan International, and ActionAid, where he developed multi-million-dollar programs and strategic partnerships.

He is a founding member of the Kenya Association of Fundraising Professionals and an authority in public policy advocacy, M&E, and market systems development.
